Clinopodiside G

Clinopodiside G is a saponin that is found in the bark of the Quillaja saponaria Molina tree, which is native to Chile. It has been used as an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic agent for centuries. Clinopodiside G has been shown to have natural antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, and Bacillus subtilis. The mechanism of action is not well understood but may be due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis and cell division.
